SHOWING LONDONMost people who come to London for the first time don't need to plan where to go. There is too much to see and do. Just hop on a sightseeing bus and you'll be guaranteed to see something. In fact, every building in London has an interesting history. Every road has a story. When I show London to my friends, I take them to my favourite places. Today I showed my neighbourhood and the parks. Having lived in London on and off for more than a decade, I discovered today that I've been to every single tube station in zone one. In my early twenties, I used to visit Camden Town every weekend. There were so many stalls and knick knacks at the outdoor markets. Then I discovered Portobello Road on a Saturday morning. It was even more colourful. Today I just wanted to give my guest a taste of London, the kind of teaser that would lure him back for more. It's a combination of the tube, the train, the bus, and the foot. It's a metze of Japanese, Malaysian, and Chinese cuisines. It's a snapshot of London that reflects my current stage in life. |
