Autumn Shivers

It is Autumn. But it feels like winter.
The day was black. It rained like hell hath no fury.
I walked home in the dark, in the cold rain. The wind was no help. I shook my head and shivered.
The next evening I came home early. After a hot bath, I sat on my piano bench with my hands perched on the white keys. I felt disconnected from everything. I've been away too often.
This summer has been too short. Now it's Autumn.
Where have all the flowers gone?
At the end of summer, I shiver in the Autumn chill.
