Bon JournalComparing telephone call ratesI got so used to using One Tel that I decided to over-ride British Telecom as the default landline provider. Despite the cheap international call rates (3 pence per minute to US and 2p to the Netherlands all hours of the day), One Tel is unable to deliver cheap mobile or non-geographic calls (0845 and 0870 numbers). So-called non-geographic calls are meant to be cheaper than normal calls. Depending on the time of day and the way I make such calls, I should use BT or my mobile. Here follows a brief analysis (data from web sites and from my phone calls to them yesterday.)
From One Tel landline:
From One Tel mobile:
From BT landline: [Use call pricer]
all prices include VAT of 17.5% The conclusion is that I should use BT if I'm making non-geographic calls. 8 April 2003 Tuesday | Le Bon Journal, Volume 2, Issue 4: The decision of indecision and other dilemmas (2 page pdf) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
