Bon JournalNonlinear learningTonight I heard the term "nonlinear learning" for the first time. It's just another word for "learning from experience," I think. It's not learning from being in the classroom or reading a book. Like riding a bicycle, you won't know how until you do it. At the moment you learn how to balance yourself, you got it. And once you know how to ride a bicycle, you'll never forget it. I have always felt that the sort of knowledge gained from experience is the greatest of all. To speak from experience, you're that much more grounded and solid. To learn from being a participant, a player in the game, rather than a mere observer --- that's nonlinear learning. It's no wonder that I put so much emphasis on "trying it out." While curiosity may kill the cat, it certainly leads me to new experiences. 7 January 2003 Tuesday | ||||
